QOT Black Tar 75 ml

Black Tar by QOT is a study in contrasts. Smoky, dark tar is paired with the tart, almost candy-like sweetness of Korean strawberries. On paper the pairing shouldn't work, but here it comes together with an almost provocative ease. The result is bold and charismatic: rough and gritty, lifted by a fruity twist, refined without being polished smooth. The fragrance was created by Linda Landenberg.

The opening sets the mood straight away. Smoky, dark tar meets Korean strawberry, and the fruit's juicy tartness and playful sweetness cut right through the sooty, blackened notes. Saffron adds a dry spice, and then rose brings an elegant floral note to the heart. Cade deepens the smoke with dry, charred woods and sharpens the composition further.

As the smoke settles, amber, sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla come through. Black Tar turns softer and warmer but keeps its edge. Creamy sandalwood and rich vanilla smooth out the tar, while amber joins the dark and fruity sides in a warm, sensual base.

Black Tar doesn't want to be pinned down. It moves between asphalt and strawberry candy, smoke and sweetness, rough and refined, and seems most at home somewhere in between.
